Glass windows need to be installed early in construction in order to complete the structure's envelope to close it in from the weather. This makes them vulnerable to accidental or intentional breakage throughout almost the entire construction project. Quist Window's power and signal wiring and mounts can be roughed in along with the other electrical work, with the actual Quist Window components not installed until the final finish phases of construction.
Surface mounted Quist Windows do not need any structural considerations except for the wall to be strong enough to be able to securely hold them in place. However, if it is desired to use embedded Quist Windows, it will require framing similar to a glass window, but the sheathing and external finishes need no openings, cutting down that extra cost.
Quist Windows are agnostic to wall construction or thickness. No extra considerations or hardware needs be provided to fit up a Quist Window whether the "wall" is one inch thick or five feet thick. The wall can be made of anything that can count as a wall, whether it be hay bales, 2x2 studs, 2x12 studs, metal panels, concrete, stucco, masonry or earth or etc.
Many jurisdictions are demanding housing density to be increased. This leads to cases where windows will face nearby walls, fences or even a neighbor's window. Quist Windows can provide an alternative or artificial viewpoint, that will give the room better ambience. In the cases of townhomes, the Quist Window can let a user "see" past a neighbor's residence (or ten) so each townhome can have 360 degrees of viewpoint.
Prime land with ideal views is getting scarcer with urbanization. A Quist Window can be set up to avoid viewing undesirable conditions nearby.
