what exactly is a quist window?
A Quist Window is a simulated window
A modern 5MP+ security camera feeds a live image to a 4k resolution video display. This allows an "image by wire" transfer from outside in.
The Quist Window has incredible flexibility
- The interface between the camera and display can be wireless or wired.
- The display and camera do not have to be aligned, meaning the camera could be looking at a completely different vantage point.
- With no actual hole in the wall, there is no need for extra framing nor interruptions to the insulation barrier, making for a stronger and more energy tight building with less materials and labor.
- Sound is completely discretionary, hear as little or as much as desired.
- Use a Quist Window on any type of wall or any thickness without needing special details or framing.
- A standard house may have 15% glass windows, replacing 2/3rds of them with Quist Windows could decrease heating and cooling demands by 20% or more
- Privacy Windows: Quist Windows are ideal substitutes for privacy windows. Think about it, what is really the point of them. No view at all. They simply leak energy and represent a weak point in the house or building.

Our History
Founded in 2022, Quist Windows was founded by Julian Quist, P.E. to bring his patented idea of an innovative product idea that will save energy, improve privacy and make structures more resilient.
Inspiration
Julian Quist, P.E. found that windows play an outsized role in the capacity sizing calculations of HVAC systems. He also worked for many clients who are extremely sensitive to Intellectual Privacy which results in many windowless work areas (or sometimes they do but they are perpetually shaded and useless windows). Quist Windows can overcome both of these issues.
